The palace stated that despite Harry's explosive remarks, the King dedicates all of his attention to honouring the “selfless devotion, duty, and service” of the World War Two heroes.
After losing his court appeal over taxpayer-funded security, Prince Harry wanted to “reconcile” with his father, but he said the King “won't speak” to him.
Royal Family's Anticipations for VE Day Celebrations
In advance of Monday's activities in central London, a palace official stated: “The King, Queen and other members of the Royal Family are much looking forward to all the week's VE Day events, when they will unite with the rest of the nation and those across the Commonwealth and wider world in celebrating, commemorating and giving thanks to the wartime generation whose selfless devotion duty and service should stand as an enduring example to us all – and must never be forgotten.”
Along with Ukrainian and British troops, the King will lead VE Day celebrations in London on Monday, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Allied victory in Europe.
Beginning on Monday, today, the bank holiday, the country will celebrate for four days until Thursday, May 8, which is precisely eight decades after the declaration of Victory in Europe.
Moreover, the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace will serve as a platform for the King, Queen, Prime Minister, and veterans of World War II. At Buckingham Palace, the Prince and Princess of Wales will join in a parade and fly-by.
After receiving the Commonwealth War Graves' Torch For Peace from air cadet Warrant Officer Emmy Jones, 100-year-old Normandy veteran Alan Kennett will formally begin the procession.
In the procession, over 1,300 members of the armed forces and youth organisations will march up The Mall, through Admiralty Arch, and down Whitehall in the direction of Buckingham Palace.
The family is aware that nothing will “detract or distract” from honouring the priceless victory and the courageous individuals who helped bring it about, out of respect for the surviving veterans.

Prince Harry Discusses Family Distance
Prince Harry talked candidly about his continued distance from his family in a startling interview on Friday, stating that although his father refuses to talk to him, he still hopes for a reconciliation.
In addition, the duke indicated his desire for reconciliation with his father, who has been unable to speak due to security issues, expressing his appreciation for life's preciousness. Additionally, former Queen's press secretary Ailsa Anderson stated that Buckingham Palace would react positively to the interview.
Prince Harry's uncertainty about his father's age is expected to
generate media speculation and uncertainty about his diagnosis, which could be unhelpful in the future.
The Duchess of Sussex shared a photo of Prince Harry and their children, indicating solidarity. The black and white image, unaccompanied by Meghan's Instagram message, depicts Harry walking with Princess Lilibet on his shoulders and Prince Archie holding his hand through a garden.
Ultimately, Prince Harry expressed his regret for not being able to safely return his family to the UK, saying that he misses the country and parts of it, despite the actions of some of its people. He believes he cannot imagine a world in which he would return to the UK with his family.
