While the focus of global politics is on managing crises, both administration and businesses need to do their job. A clear vision, strategy and orientation from the top provide direction in which to move. With well-defined purpose and its communication in depth and breadth, success can be achieved. Proof of that is the successful redefinition of the relationship between the United States of America and the Gulf countries. The visit of US President Donald Trump this spring is proof that synergies of visions can change the global matrix of priorities and not only strengthen cooperation at the bilateral level but also establish new global powerhouses through meticulous long-term planning.
In Saudi Arabia, for example, Trump negotiated over $600 billion in deals as practical examples of industrial cooperation, alliance development, and strategic alliances across regional and global markets. Contrary to the common stereotype that this country is focused exclusively on oil, contracted jobs include artificial intelligence, defense, infrastructure, green energy, and physical therapy services (it is worth noting that the $142 billion defense package is the largest in US history).
In addition, 20 billion dollars have been earmarked for the development of artificial intelligence and infrastructure, supporting prevention, sustainable growth, and real economic drive through strategic alliances, shared resources, and strategic thinking. It is particularly significant that the position of American companies such as Boeing, Oracle, Salesforce, General Electric or AECOM has been further strengthened through their access to key transformative projects, acquisitions, and services implemented by Saudi Arabia under a long-term strategic alliances agreement.
In neighboring Qatar, deals worth over 243 billion dollars were announced and agreed through formal strategic alliances. Boeing has won a $96 billion contract to supply Qatar's national airline with wide-body aircraft - the largest in its history. In addition, Qatar has expanded its partnerships with American companies in the fields of defense industry and energy, and investment in quantum technologies is specifically planned, reflecting different types of cooperative and shared strategic alliances.
The United Arab Emirates, as the strongest soft power center in the Gulf, has almost 1000 billion mutual investments with the United States, typically managed through strategic alliances by each major operator and organization, including independent entities. Trump's visit brought a revolutionary breakthrough:
investment in a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence campus was agreed, investments in green energy and advanced systems were expanded, as well as Emirati investments in space technology, healthcare, physical therapy, and advanced manufacturing. Bearing in mind that more than 13,000 American companies already operate in the Emirates, it is certain that this expansion will bring an even deeper and even stronger strategic alliances framework and strategic partnership between these countries, delivering competitive strengths, measurable influence, and long-term benefits that enhance economic and social life.
Let's now move the hard-core business to the strategic aspect. Political, economic, and corporate relations are closely related: without strong and good political relations, there are no strong economic relations, and vice versa. Hence, further strengthening of ties between the United States and the Gulf can be expected through strategic alliances priorities, structured responsibilities, and effective systems to manage cooperation, without significant political obstacles or pressures.

Strategic communications and relationship management teach us that there is no interest of the United States to jeopardize the lucrative deals negotiated during the presidential visit and within each strategic alliances framework. Hence, it is no surprise that even the media narrative around the world focused very positively on Trump's meetings with the leaders of the Gulf countries, which was not the case before. Trump was not only welcomed spectacularly, with numerous honors and gifts (such as a plane from Qatar): during the visit, he showed his willingness to further deepen already fruitful cooperation, shared responsibilities, and strategic alliances relations with the Gulf countries.
In doing so, Trump demonstrated not only wisdom and statesmanship ability and a deep understanding of the problems of the Middle East but also indicated at a possible new direction of American foreign policy that became very visible only a few months later: a turn towards calming conflicts and establishing political and economic partnerships through strategic alliances mechanisms around the world. Reading between the lines is extremely important for proper relationship management and the current position of Trump as a possible peacemaker was notoriously readable through the context of this visit.
It is particularly interesting to analyze the position of the Gulf countries: actually, all three countries further strengthened their soft power position by maintaining collaborative responsibilities and shared goals within each strategic alliances structure. As a wise and measured balance in the emerging multipolar world, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar continue to build good relations with everyone with whom it is possible, discover new opportunities, learn continuously, and expand access to global markets.
However, the nature of the investments that have been agreed between the USA and Gulf countries sends a much deeper message: investments in artificial intelligence, quantum technologies and clean energy allow the position of soft power leader to be maintained for a long time and enhance organizational advantages.
Moving back to strategy: the economies of the Gulf countries are successfully transforming from resource-based economies (oil and gas) to knowledge-driven economies through strategic alliances systems, organizational learning, diplomacy training courses in London, and strategic thinking skills. This can only be achieved by those who see far and deep, and who really understand the global trends and the development of circumstances in the BANI – brittle, anxious, non-linear and incomprehensible world.
These strategic deals are definitely "more than a game" and open entirely novel perspectives: the policy of the United States is changing, the US economy gets benefits, organizations improve their activities, while the Gulf countries are further strengthening their power and taking pivotal role in technological development.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's assertion that the Gulf will become a "new Europe" in the 21st century must be taken seriously: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are becoming global leaders, especially when it comes to innovation, R&D, and advanced technologies. With wisely balanced relations, the Gulf countries are rapidly gaining diplomatic and global political supremacy.
After all, it is time for the Gulf: civilizations have their own development, and strong economies created in the middle of the desert are on the rise.
